2009 Wisconsin Act 141

(effective date: March 18, 2010)

The Act prohibits the delivery, distribution and manufacturing of salvinorin A, the psychotropic ingredient in the plant Salvia divinorum.  The Act does not apply to a form of salvinorin A that is recognized by the U.S. FDA as a homeopathic drug that may be obtained from a retail store without a prescription.  Violating the statute can result in a fine not to exceed $10,000.
