About the Event

The principle purpose of the event is to facilitate a network among UW Hastie Fellows as well as a works-in-progress series for those seeking to publish in the upcoming submission cycles. The reunion aims to carry forward the legacy of the fellowship, which is grounded in pursuing academic excellence and diversifying the legal profession.

Established in 1973, the Hastie Fellowship Program provides an opportunity for lawyers of color to prepare for a career in law teaching. The fellowship honors William H. Hastie, a lawyer, teacher, jurist, and civil rights advocate who championed the importance of high-quality legal education.
