Event Description

Interested in working with real clients, performing legal work for these clients, and earning Law School credits for doing so? Come explore the wide variety of opportunities within the Law School’s eighteen legal clinics at the All Clinics Fair in the Atrium on October 30 from noon - 2 p.m.

- Have you dreamed about working with a legal team to help exonerate the wrongly imprisoned, or simply assist the incarcerated with the multitude of issues they face while in prison?

- Do you want to use your entrepreneurial skills to assist persons starting a business or seeking a patent?

- Interested in an interdisciplinary environment promoting the consumer perspective in health care?

- Want to assist the unrepresented with child support, landlord-tenant relations, immigration problems, or consumer disputes?

- Are you drawn toward finding solutions by mediation or using restorative justice principles?

The Law School’s legal clinics provide opportunities for all of these, and much more. Come learn about these on October 30.

In addition, while the Clinic Fair is going on in the Atrium, there will also be tables on the 3rd floor, outside the Foley & Lardner Courtroom (Room 3260), staffed by representatives of various externship and experiential learning programs. Students will be able to pick up printed information and ask questions of representatives of the following programs about spring 2014 and summer 2014 opportunities: The Law School's Judicial Intern clinical program; the Lawyering Skills course; the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice clinical program; the Domestic Violence externship course; and the Midwest Environmental Advocates externship course.

Please email Lucy Brown at ltbrown2@wisc.edu if you have questions about the clinics. Please email Jane Heymann at jheymann@wisc.edu if you have questions about the internships and externships.
