Symposium “New Governance and the Transformation of Law ” is Nov. 20-21

The 2009 Wisconsin Law Review Symposium “Transatlantic Conference on New Governance and the Transformation of Law” will be held November 20-21, 2009, at the Pyle Center on the UW-Madison campus.

The event is a by-invitation conference organized by a Transatlantic Steering Committee chaired by Professors Joanne Scott (University College London) and Louise Trubek (University of Wisconsin). The Committee has selected scholars from the U.S. and Europe who have made significant contributions to the understanding of new governance and its impact on law.

The symposium is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin Law School, the University of Wisconsin-Madison European Union Center of Excellence, and the Centre for Law and Governance in Europe at University College London. Co-sponsors are the Wisconsin Project on Governance and Regulation (WISGAR), the Global Legal Studies Center, the Institute for Legal Studies, the Center for World Affairs and the Global Economy (WAGE), and the Wisconsin Law Review.

Detailed information about the program and participants can be found at the conference Web site here.

Because of space constraints, attendance is limited to UW faculty, Law Review staff, graduate students, and guest scholars whose work intersects with the focus of the conference, with a registration deadline of November 13.  Further information can be obtained from Pam Hollenhorst: pshollen@wisc.edu.
