UW Law School student Lia Ocasio recently received the Student Pro Bono award from the Dane County Bar Association during a May reception.

Each year, DCBA celebrates and honors attorneys, law students, law firms and organizations providing pro bono legal services in Dane County.

Ocasio’s extensive pro bono service includes volunteering for the Unemployment Appeals Clinic, the Community Immigration Law Center, and the National Immigrant Justice Center. During a winter break service trip to New Orleans, Ocasio contributed nearly 35 hours of service at AIDSLaw.
