The Veterans Law Center received a $5,000 gift from Habush Habush & Rottier, a Wisconsin-based law firm, to support legal services to area veterans.

The Veterans Law Center provides free advice, information and referrals to veterans in need of civil legal assistance. UW Law School's Pro Bono Program administers the center, which is staffed by volunteer attorneys, paralegals and law students.

Laura Smythe, director of UW Law’s Pro Bono Program, thanked the firm for its continued support. “Habush Habush & Rottier was instrumental in the creation of the Veterans Law Center two years ago,” she says. “This gift helps us reach more veterans and their families throughout the state of Wisconsin."

Since opening its doors in 2012, the center has served 130 veterans and their families.
