UW-Law students Tim Hogan '11 and Eric Hatchell '11 won the 16th Annual National Telecommunications Moot Court Competition hosted by the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington D.C. on March 27th. The competition had originally been scheduled for February but was
postponed due to snow. Hogan and Hatchell defeated the University of Colorado in the final round in a split 2-1 decision, arguing the problem of the Federal Communication Commission's ability to preempt state laws aimed at regulating broadband internet offerings. The FCC was also a sponsor of the event. The team was coached to their first place finish by Tim Kuhn '10.
