UW-LLSA Team Advances to the Quarterfinals at the 15th Annual HNBA Moot Court Competition

Andres Cerritos (3L) and Amanda Riek (2L) advanced to the quarterfinal round, beating out 24 other teams, at the 15th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition sponsored by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) in San Diego, California. Crystal Banse (3L), LLSA Treasurer and member of the UW Moot Court Board, coached the team.  The problem, which was loosely based on Skillings v. United States currently pending before the U.S. Supreme Court, dealt with whether the government may rebut a presumption of juror prejudice by sh owing an absence of actual prejudice.
