UW Law Mock Trial Team wins 2nd place in ABA labor law competition

The University of Wisconsin Mock Trial Team took Second Place honors at the Sixth Annual Regional ABA Labor and Employment Law Competition on November 23, 2009, at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago. The team included Joe Ahlers 2L, Amelia Buragas 2L, Eric Christoffersen 3L, and Katy Morgan-Davies 2L.

Another Wisconsin team was the highest scoring team in the preliminary rounds and made it to the competition’s semi-final round.  That team included Erin Deeley 2L, Devon Rembert-Carroll 2L, Bethany Nelson 3L, and Nathan Otis 3L.

The teams offered particular thanks to the two team coaches, Peter Jarosz of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Mario White ‘08 of the Wisconsin Public Defender’s Office, who generously gave of their time to mentor their teams.
