Meg Gaines awarded Health Law Attorney of the Year Award

Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Patient Partnerships Martha (Meg) Gaines was recently selected by the Wisconsin State Bar's Health Law Section to receive the first annual Health Law Lawyer of the Year Award. She is being recognized as "...a person who has made significant contribution to the preservation and enhancement of the health and life of people in Wisconsin."

Gaines work at the Center has led to the helping of innumerable patients in their efforts to navigate the health care system while seriously ill. It has also brought about the training of many UW students from the schools of Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Social Work to advocate on the behalf of patients.

She will be honored at the State Bar's Annual Convention on May 6 during the Volunteer Recognition and Member Networking Celebration starting at 6:15 pm at the Monona Terrace Convention Center, Madison, WI. More information can be found on the State Bar's website.
