Lori Leonovicz Weinstein ‘02 receives Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service

University of Wisconsin Law School alumna Lori A. (Leonovicz) Weinstein ‘02 has received the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service from U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s office in recognition of her work as a Department of Justice trial attorney on the investigation into corrupt payments by Siemens AG.

The Siemens case, resolved in December 2008 for a record criminal penalty of $450 million, was the largest corporate FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) disposition in history.

Weinstein is one of three co-recipients of the honor for work on the Siemens investigation, which spanned a number of years and involved countless hours of complex work. She is employed by the DOJ Criminal Division’s Fraud Section.

Weinstein will receive the award officially at the 57th Annual Attorney General's Awards Ceremony on October 21, 2009, at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
