To choose the Pass/Fail Option for one (or two) of your Fall 2014 courses, go to the following Law School website. The link is https://secure.law.wisc.edu/grades/pf/

To be eligible to use the Pass/Fail Option choice, you must have earned 25 or more Law School credits prior to this semester, and have used less than 2 Pass/Fail Options during your Law School career. Note: Taking advantage of the Pass/Fail Option may affect your eligibility for Dean’s List and for Order of the Coif.

After you log-in using your Net ID and Password, the site will show only your current courses for Fall 2014 that are eligible for the Pass/Fail Option.
For full information on the operation of the Pass/Fail Option, be sure to click on the links for Read This First, section 9.3 and Law School Rules 2.03 (Pass/Fail Option) Remember, you may choose a Law course as your pass/fail option choice only two times during your entire law school career.

Again, go to the link https://secure.law.wisc.edu/grades/pf/ and look for these three things:

1. Course(s) ELIGIBLE for Pass/Fail Option: (here it will list all of your courses that are offered as pass/fail option for Fall 2014 if you have not made your choice(s) yet). In order to request pass/fail, click on the appropriate button next to the desired course, and then confirm your selection in the resulting dialog box. Your request for Pass/Fail option can be canceled until the deadline of Dec. 4th by 11:59 p.m. However, if you have already chosen as your pass/fail option choice(s) for Fall 2014, it will only show your eligible courses (minus whatever course(s) you have already chosen as your pass/fail option choice for Fall 2014). To see them, go to step #2 shown below.

2. Course(s) APPLIED for Pass/Fail Option: (here it will list any course(s) you have already chosen as your pass/fail option choice for Fall 2014) However, you can cancel it if you want to up to the deadline date of Dec. 4th by 11:59 p.m. That's why underneath it says: "In order to cancel a pass/fail request, click on the appropriate button next to the desired course, and then confirm your selection in the resulting dialog box. If canceled, your request for Pass/Fail option can be
re-requested until the deadline. See individual deadlines listed after the courses." For Fall 2014, this deadline would be Dec. 4th by 11:59 p.m.)

3. Course(s) PREVIOUSLY CONFIRMED for Pass/Fail Option: If it says: "No previous pass/fail confirmations found." (this means you haven't chosen any pass/fail option course(s) from any PREVIOUS SEMESTER) It will also list any course(s) you did choose as your pass/fail option choice from a previous semester if you have done so.
