Wisconsin Alum Jay Himes Named Chair of New York State Bar Association's Antitrust Section

Jay L. Himes of New York is the new chair of the 534-member Antitrust Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Himes is a partner at Labaton Sucharow LLP, where he co-chairs the firm’s antitrust practice group. Prior to this position, he served for nearly eight years as the antitrust bureau chief in the New York Attorney General’s office. He previously practiced complex litigation for 25 years at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.

A nine-year member of the State Bar, Himes most recently served as vice-chair of the Antitrust Section. He is a frequent lecturer and author on antitrust and class actions and serves on multiple antitrust advisory boards.

Himes received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, and earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, magna cum laude.

The 77,000-member New York State Bar Association is the official statewide organization of lawyers in New York and the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. Founded in 1876, State Bar programs and activities have continuously served the public and improved the justice system for 135 years.
