Applying for Financial Assistance

LLM or SJD students - new or continuing

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR REQUESTS BY OR BEFORE MONDAY, APRIL 1, 2013.

New students: Funds for graduate support are scarce. Awards are made in exceptional cases and only of modest amount. Note that admission to the degree program is separate from the request for financial assistance. Admission to the degree program does not guarantee financial support.

If you wish to be considered for financial assistance and you are a new student applying to the LLM or SJD program, you will see that there is a place to indicate this on the second page of the application form. Indicate this on your application and also include the following with your application:

  1. an additional letter in which you explain your request for financial assistance;

  2. a completed financial request form detailing and documenting your situation and needs;

  3. a current resume.

Continuing students: Funds for graduate support are scarce. Awards are made in exceptional cases and only of modest amount.  Awards are made on a year to year basis. Receiving an award in one year does not imply or guarantee that you will receive an award again. If you wish to be considered again for financial support, submit a new request with updated information. Mail to or drop off the following at the Graduate Programs Office so that we receive your request by or before APRIL 1, 2013:

  1. a letter to the Graduate Admissions Committee in which you explain your request for financial assistance. State in the letter all financial assistance that you are now receiving or previously have received for your studies at the Law School (regardless of the source).

  2. a completed financial request form detailing and documenting your situation and needs.

  3. an updated resume.

Please put these three items and your supporting documentation in an envelope. On the envelope, PLEASE WRITE

To the Graduate Admissions Committee
Request for Financial Assistance
.

Mail to or drop off at the Graduate Programs Office so that we receive your request by or before APRIL 1, 2013.
