Posted: 2007-03-08 02:52:00

University of Wisconsin Law School Professor Walter Dickey will speak Thursday, March 8, at noon in Room 3250 of the Law School on "Out of Sight, Out of Mind?: Mental Illness and the Criminal Justice System."

The brown-bag lunch event is sponsored by the Mental Health Legal Advocacy Network (MHLAN), a UW Law School student organization.

Dickey will discuss the intersection of mental health and criminal law and will add practical advice based on his experience working with the Wisconsin criminal justice system.

MHLAN representatives recommend the talk to future prosecutors, criminal attorneys, and anyone interested in working in the criminal justice system. The event is free; listeners are invited to bring a lunch.

Evjue Bascom Professor of Law Walter J. Dickey is faculty director of the Law School's Frank J. Remington Center as well as Associate Dean for Student and Academic Affairs.
