Course Description

The course provides an introduction to contract law, including remedies for contractual breach, the role of contracts in maintaining continuing relations (both familial and commercial), and social controls exerted over contracts (including illegality, capacity, duress, good faith, and unconscionability).

Learning Outcomes for Contracts I:
• Know how to extract rules and policy from judicial opinions;
• Make convincing arguments in oral and written form on both sides of an issue; and
• Master the fundamental rules and policies of contract law.
